  1. “Bramasole” Cortona Syrah d.o.c. 2011 by “La Braccesca, Marchesi Antinori” (3 bottles)

The wine is very expressive on the nose with sweet notes of white fruit together with aromas of spice and tobacco. The palate is potent and ripe, the fruit fused with the tobacco, the spices, and the black pepper, leaving space at the end for hints of liquorice. The finish and aftertaste are long and supple. This wine represents outstanding value (as measured by our Quality Price Ratio). And the critics have scored this as one of the top 5 Cortona wines: Wine Spectator gave the 2010 vintage a score of 92, 2011 – 91.

  1. “Klanis” Cortona Syrah Riserva  d.o.c. 2012 by “Dal Cero Family: Tenuta Montecchiesi” (3 bottles)

It appears an intense, near-opaque purple-red. Well-ripened fruit enriches the bouquet, such as dried plum, blackberry, blackcurrant, and blueberry, lifted by notes of candied fruit, chocolate, vanilla, and roasted hazelnut. It opens in the mouth to perfectly integrated tannins, balanced by an appropriate level of alcohol and a judicious acidity. The aromatic finish lingers beautifully. Perfect partner to grilled or stewed meats, wild game, and medium- and long-aged cheeses.

  1. “Syrah Riserva Cortona” d.o.c. 2013 by “Baracchi”
    (3 bottles)

With cool summer nights and shining mornings, Cortona’s  terroir produces Syrah of great depth and distinction that can only be grown here. The soil here is the ideal combination of sand, marl and clay. Syrah Riserva is one of the varietal Baracchi Winery make that goes through extended oak aging. It is born from both from exceptional soils and climate of our unique region and from Riccardo Baracchi’s passion for the land. Deep ruby red colour. Great nose of wild berries, cherry liqueur, dried violet and forest floor. Spicy notes of black pepper, cloves, juniper, chocolate and sweet tobacco. Full-flavour, loads of fruit. Pervasive on the palate, warm and juicy with smooth tannins that blend perfectly with the full-bodied structure. Fruity aftertaste and long finish.

  1. “Commendatore” Syrah Toscana i.g.t. 2015 by Gabriele Mazzeschi, “Le Capanne” (3 bottles)

100% Syrah. Intense ruby color. Black currants, pepper, with notes of  ferrous. This wine honours the memory of Mr. Michele Giusti (Gabriele Mazzeschi’s maternal great grandfather), who was awarded with the honorific distinctions of Knight (2nd June 1956) Officer (2nd June 1961) and Commander (27th December 1974) by the Italian government.
