100% Sangiovese grapes, which come from the estate vines planted from cuttings taken from very old neighbouring vineyards. To fertilise the vineyards and olive groves only vegetable and animal manure are used, and also for the spraying, biodegradable produce are used. After the fermentation the wine is transferred to medium size oak barrels, where it remains for four years before being refined in the bottle for another year, when it is ready to be sold under the denomination DOCG a title which only few wines in Italy can boast. This Brunello di Montalcino wine has received good scores from various critics: the 1999 vintage was given a score of 18/20 by Jancis Robinson. A couple of prizes have been won by this wine in competition: the Vinibuoni d'Italia awarded the 2005 vintage Golden Star and the 2006 vintage Corone. The second label of Tenuta di Trinoro, Le Cupole was first produced in 1995. It is a blend of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Petit Verdot, with percentages varying with each vintage. Fermented in stainless steel and aged in one to three year old barriques and cement, Le Cupole is velvety and approachable. This wine hits the palate with exuberance, full of fleshy, bright fruit, extracted tannins, and rich color. Several important critics have rated this Toscana IGT wine highly: Wine Spectator gave the 2014 vintage a score of 93.
